Product description
Japanese active substrate made from natural soil. It allows you to create an impressive plant tank with unique decorative qualities. The dark color of the substrate emphasizes the intensity of the green and red hues of the plants, giving the aquarium a natural and harmonious look.
The substrate naturally regulates water parameters, lowering pH, GH, and KH values, which helps maintain soft and slightly acidic water suitable for shrimp, freshwater fish, and aquarium plants. It contains large amounts of gradually released micro- and macroelements, ensuring stable growth even for the most demanding plants.
Its porous structure creates an ideal environment for nitrifying bacteria, which support biological filtration by converting harmful nitrogen compounds. The substrate effectively removes water discoloration caused by decorative roots and helps maintain clean, healthy, and crystal-clear water in the aquarium.
The substrate should not be rinsed before use. Place the appropriate amount in the aquarium and gently moisten the plants before planting them. Pour the water very slowly to prevent nutrients from being washed out. After filling the tank, temporary cloudiness may occur, which should disappear within a few hours with efficient filtration. A thin film may appear on the water surface, which can be removed manually or by increasing water circulation or using a skimmer.
To extend the life of the substrate, it is recommended to use reverse osmosis (RO) water and mineralize it with an appropriate preparation. e.g. GH+ One Plant . Once opened, it is best to use the entire contents, as the substrate has natural moisture and drying out may cause the granules to disintegrate upon re-contact with water. If storage is necessary, leave them in their original, closed packaging with microventilation. Do not store above 25°C.
Platinum Soil is characterized by its long service life and should be used as the only active substrate in the aquarium, without the addition of other substrates. However, it can be combined with neutral substrates, such as sand, which does not affect water parameters.
