Product description
Fine Volcanic Lava
It is not only an attractive decorative material, but also a functional substrate that supports the aquarium ecosystem. Its porous structure promotes the growth of beneficial filter bacteria, which helps maintain stable water parameters. Additionally, its rough texture provides an ideal substrate for mosses and epiphytic plants, making it a good choice for aquarists looking for practical and aesthetic decorative qualities. It is completely safe for the inhabitants of the tank – it does not change the water parameters.
When immersed in water, lava takes on deeper shades, and its irregular surface gives the arrangement a natural look. The fine fraction works well as a supplement to the active substrate, ensuring good water circulation and stabilizing plants, while larger fragments can serve a decorative function. Thanks to its lightness, lava is easy to lay and does not weigh down the bottom of the tank.
Purpose
Ideal as a substrate for general aquariums, plant aquariums, shrimp aquariums, and decorative tanks, as well as a base layer for active substrates.

Before use – important!
Before adding lava to the aquarium, it is recommended to rinse it thoroughly under running water. It is best to wet-sift it through a fine sieve in a large bowl of water, then rinse small portions under running water. This will remove any dust that could cause the water to become cloudy. The remaining dust can be used as an additive to potting soil to improve plant growth.
